When Good Wasn't Enough
Royal Essence Society was born from a moment of honest reflection. After building Royal Essence Empowerment — a thriving organization dedicated to uplifting women — Founder A'Shawnti Chestnut realized her passion demanded more. More depth. More structure. More sisterhood. She needed a space that went beyond events and inspiration, a society where women could truly belong.
"I desired to instill confidence, integrity, and bring back traditional values and morals in all women — in a time where social media shapes how women see themselves and each other."
— A'Shawnti Chestnut, President & Founder
Born in Charleston, Built for Every Woman
A'Shawnti Chestnut is a visionary, leader, and woman deeply rooted in purpose, passion, and community. Born and raised in the Charleston area, she has always carried a natural desire to bring people together, uplift others, and create meaningful experiences. Her journey has been shaped by both life's challenges and her unwavering determination to grow through them.
Through every season, she discovered the importance of self-worth, resilience, and the power of community. As a Business Administration Graduate with a concentration in Human Resources, A'Shawnti brings not only passion but purpose-driven strategy into everything she builds. Her background in community engagement and people-centered work has allowed her to cultivate experiences that are both empowering and transformative.
What began with Royal Essence Empowerment — curating signature events like The Royal Essence Awards & Empowerment Tea and developing initiatives centered around self-care, financial literacy, and personal growth — revealed a deeper calling. She recognized a need for safe, intentional spaces where women could come together not to compete, but to connect. Spaces where women could be vulnerable, be inspired, and be reminded of who they truly are at their core.
Royal Essence Society is the answer to that calling. It is a society built on genuine sisterhood, personal enrichment, and service to the community — a place where traditional values are honored, confidence is cultivated, and every woman is reminded that she carries a crown worth protecting.
